Kairos Cookie Collection

The Kairos Prison Ministry at Marion Correctional Facility conducts a Kairos Weekend at the prison

twice a year. Typically, 42 inmates participate in the three-day weekend. It is based on the Cursillo

or Emmaus Walk weekend experience – a short course in Christianity. Many give their lives to

Christ.

The next Kairos Weekend at Marion Correctional Institution will be held October 24 through October

27. This is a powerful time, for lives change when prison inmates experience the love and

forgiveness that is found in Jesus Christ.

Any Cursillo or Emmaus weekend is a lot of work, but in the prison setting it is massive undertaking.

Because there can be no trace of favoritism, they need to give cookies to ALL of the inmates – not

just the ones participating. Thus, they need 4,000 DOZEN cookies!

Thank you for baking cookies for the upcoming Kairos weekend. Cookies show inmates that there

are people who think of them and care about them. Here is the most important thing: As you

bake, please pray for the inmates, corrections officers, prison staff and the Kairos volunteers.
