We aren’t sure who wrote the New Testament letter to the Hebrews, but we know that the author knew his Bible. We learn in this series that all of the Old Testament points to Jesus, the One who is our mediator, our great high priest, the founder of our salvation. He is simply the best, and therefore we hold on to Him until we see Him face to face. Unlike the first century Jewish Christians, we are not tempted to go back to temple worship or animal sacrifice. But we are tempted functionally to prioritize many other things above Jesus every single day. The book of Hebrews helps us to prioritize Jesus above all and to persevere until the end.
